Lesson Plans for January 2-6, 2017

Monday-

Topics:  Overview of next section (Excel Basics); students will become familiar with vocabulary used in next chapter

Activities:  Students to define selected vocabulary for this section from pp. 343-344, 352-353, 362, 371-372, 380-381, 390.  May write on notebook paper or type vocabulary in MS Word.  If type, must save as Excel Basics Vocab into Excel folder on flash drive. Print and/or turn in when complete.

Tuesday-

Topics: Starting Excel; naming and saving a workbook; exploring the Excel window; exploring the Excel Interface; navigating the worksheet; changing worksheet views; closing a workbook and exiting Excel

Activities:  Students will take notes and practice new skills as we go through the Lesson 1 Try-Its together on the computer (pp. 344-349).  Students to then complete Lesson 1 Practice and Apply on pp. 349-351.  Save complete work to flash drive and print (if necessary) when complete.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Worksheet and workbook basics

Activities:  Students will take notes and practice new skills as we go through the Lesson 2 Try-Its together on the computer (pp. 353-358).  Students to then complete Lesson 2 Practice and Apply on pp. 359-361.  Save complete work to flash drive and print (if necessary) when complete.

Thursday-

Topics:  Adding worksheet contents

Activities:  Students will take notes and practice new skills as we go through the Lesson 3 Try-Its together on the computer (pp. 363-367).  Students to then complete Lesson 3 Practice and Apply on pp. 367-3370.  Save complete work to flash drive and print (if necessary) when complete.

Friday-

Topics:  Worksheet formatting

Activities:  Students will take notes and practice new skills as we go through the Lesson 4 Try-Its together on the computer (pp. 372-377).  Students to then complete Lesson 4 Practice and Apply on pp. 377-379.  Save complete work to flash drive and print (if necessary) when complete.
