Monday-

Topics:  Managing sources and controlling text flow

Activities:  Students to take notes and practice new skills as we go through the Lesson 22 Try-Its together on pp. 291-297.  Save into Practice folder when complete.

Tuesday-Wednesday

Topics:  Managing sources and controlling text flow

Activities:  Students to reinforce learning by completing the Lesson 22 Practice and Apply on pp. 298-301 on computer.  Save into Word folder and print Practice ONLY.  (Tell students to just Save the L22 Apply because its 5 pages long!)

Thursday-

Topics:  Review Creating Reports in Word

Activities:  Students to complete the test review questions using their notes/book/ computer.

Friday-

Topics:  Review creating Reports in Word

Activities:  Students to participate in test review game.  Winning team will win 5 bonus points to be added to their test.

**Test will be Monday over Creating Reports in Word**

Lesson Plans for January 4-8, 2016

Monday-

Topics:  Exam results/ Objectives for next chapter

Activities:  Students will define the vocabulary over word tables on pp. 208-209, 226, 234 (23 words total).  If type on computer, must save as Table vocab into the Word folder on your flash drive.  Print when complete.

Tuesday-

Topics:  Inserting a table in Word

Activities:  Students will practice new skills on the computer as we go through the Lesson 14 Try-Its on pp. 209-214 together.  Students will need to save work into the Practice folder on their flash drive.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Inserting a table in Word

Activities:  Students will reinforce yesterday’s learning by completing the Lesson 14 Practice and Apply on pp. 215-217 on the computer.  Students will need to save to Word folder on flash drive and print when complete.

Thursday-

Topics:  Aligning Tables

Activities:  Students will practice new skills on the computer as we go through the Lesson 15 Try-Its on pp. 2109-222 together.  Students will need to save work into the Practice folder on their flash drive.

Friday-

Topics:  Aligning Tables

Activities:  Students will reinforce yesterday’s learning by completing the Lesson 15 Practice and Apply on pp. 223-225 on the computer.  Students will need to save to Word folder on flash drive and print when complete.

Lesson Plans for November 23-24, 2015

Monday-

Activities:  Students to take a TEST over Word Lessons 7-10 material.  Study the review sheets that you completed and got back on Friday.  Test will be both written and computer.  **Make sure that you bring a pencil.

Tuesday-

Early release day-  only 8th period will meet.  This class will go over their test from Monday.

Wed-Friday

Out for Thanksgiving break!

Monday-Tuesday

Bring something to work on or read.  We will not start new section until Wednesday when band members return from state competition.

Wednesday

Topics:  Formatting and sorting lists

Activities:  Students to take notes as we go through new material and will practice new skills together as we go through Lesson 7 Try-Its on computer on pp. 142-145.  Students will save practice work into their practice folder on flash drive.

Thursday

Topics:  Formatting and sorting lists

Activities:  Students to complete the Lesson 7 Practice and Apply exercises on pp. 145-147 on their own on the computer using their notes and book.  Students will print where indicated and save into the Word folder on their flash drives.

Friday-

Topics:  Inserting pictures, text boxes, and shapes

Activities:  Students to take notes as we go through new material and will practice new skills by completing a task on computer with set criteria.

 

Lesson Plans for October 19-23, 2015

Monday-Wednesday:

Topics:  Review of Lessons 4-6 material

Activities:  Students to complete the test review questions using their notes and book.  Completed review will be due by the end of class Wednesday.

Thursday-

Topics:  Test review

Activities:  Students will participate in test review game.  Winning student(s) or team will win 5 bonus points towards their test grade.

Friday-

Activities:  Test over Word Lessons 4-6 material.  Part written, part computer.  Will need a pencil for written part of test.

Lesson Plans for October 12-16, 2015

Monday

Topics:  personal business letters; formatting text with fonts and effects

Activities:  Students to take notes, practice new skills, then complete the Lesson 6 Practice exercise on pp. 137-139.  Save into Word folder and print as indicated.

Tuesday

Topics:  personal business letters; formatting text with fonts and effects

Activities:  Students to finish Lesson 6 Practice from yesterday (pp.137-139), then complete the Lesson 6 Apply on pp. 139-140.  Save all work in Word folder  on flash drive and print where indicated.  Should end up with 2 printouts.  Staple and turn in for a daily grade.

Wednesday-

PSAT test-  students who are not testing, need to bring something to work on or read

Thursday-Friday

Topics:  inserting pictures, word art, word wrap, changing orientation of page, etc.

Activities:  Students are to create flyers welcoming WO exes to homecoming.  They must include at least one picture, word art, change font color, change font size.  Students will print out and vote on best flyer in their class.  Student with winning flyer will receive reward sheet.

Lesson Plans for October 5-9, 2015

Monday-

Topics:  Notebook arrangement

Activities:  Students will need to bring their BIM I notebooks to class.  Papers will be passed back.  Students will then need to get out their progress reports that they were given on Friday.  Next, we will discuss arrangement and order for papers to be filed in notebook.  Students will be given the remainder of class to 3 hole punch papers and put them in order, then file papers behind designated divider in notebook.  Students are encouraged to keep up with filing papers in notebook because they will be due the last week of the nine weeks for a test grade.

Tuesday-

Topics:  indenting text, setting and modifying tabs, inserting the date and time

Activities: Students will listen and participate as we discuss new material and go through Try-its together on pp. 118-123  on the computer.  All work should be saved into Practice folder on students flash drive to get participation credit.

Wednesday-

Early release-  students to have a chance to finished any unfinished work as needed

Thursday- Friday

Topics:  watermarks; review of indenting text, setting and modifying tabs, inserting the date and time

Activities:  We will discuss watermarks and how to apply to a document.  Students will then apply what they learned on Tuesday and today by completing the Lesson 5 Practice and Apply on pp. 127-131.  Students are to save all work to flash drive and NOT print.

Monday-

Topics:  Memos; adjusting alignment and spacing

Activities:  Students to take notes, participate in discussion, and practice new concepts on computer by going through the Try-Its on pp. 110-113 in book.  Must save any work into Practice folder on flash drive.

Tuesday-

Topics:  Adjusting alignment and spacing

Activities:  Students will reinforce yesterday’s new material by completing the Lesson 4 Practice and Apply exercises on pp. 114-116 in book on the computer.  Save into Word folder on flash drive and print as indicated.

Wednesday-

Topics:  Creating a business letter

Activities:  Students to take notes over the parts and spacing of a business letter.  They will then type a sample business letter using the correct parts and spacing discussed.

Thursday-

Topics:  Creating an envelope

Activities:  Students to take notes over how to create an envelope in MS Word.  They will then create an envelope in Word given sample addresses and learn how to load envelope into printer to print.

Friday-

Topics:  Review of week’s topics

Activities:  Students will have the opportunity to complete any unfinished work from previous week.

 

Lesson Plans for September 21-25, 2015

Monday-

Topics:  Review of Word Basics

Activities:  Test review sheets from Friday due by the first of class.  Students will then be divided up into teams in order to participate in review game.  Winning team will win 5 bonus points onto their test grade.  Test will be tomorrow and will be part written/part computer.  Will need a pencil for written part of test.

Tuesday-

Topics:  Test knowledge of Word Basics

Activities:  Test over Word Basics  (Students will need a pencil for written part of test)

Wednesday-

Topics:  Test results

Activities:  We will discuss test results and go over any questions/ problems.  Students will then correct any questions missed by writing the complete question and the correct answer on a sheet of notebook paper.  Staple corrections to test and turn back in.  If a student failed the test, they will also be assigned a unit in Odysseyware.  Student must complete unit in Odysseyware before being allowed a test retake.  Only one test retake allowed if failed, and highest grade on retake will be a 70.  Time will also be given to make sure all papers are filed in notebook correctly.  Notebooks will be due for a daily grade on Friday, Sept. 25th.

Thursday-

Topics:  Objectives for next section in Word; become familiar with section vocabulary

Activities:  Students to define the Word vocabulary on pp. 109, 117-118, and 132 either on a sheet of paper or type in MS Word.  Make sure words are numbered and you have the following heading:  Your name, BIM I-class period #, Date, Word Test 2 vocabulary.  If type in Word, you must save vocab to Word folder on flash drive as WordTest2Vocab, then print.

Friday-

Topics:  Adjusting Alignment and spacing

Activities:  Students will take notes and practice new skills on computer as we go through the Try-Its on pp. 110- 113.  Save work into Practice folder with correct filename.
